Haverhill Choral Society attracts a broad range of talents and experiences.
President: Christopher GurteenFrom accomplished choralists to tuneful have-a-go singers, HCS attracts a large (and growing) crowd. The one thing we have in common is our love of singing.
Some members have been with us over 30 years, others only joined at the last rehearsal. As a newcomer you will naturally be sitting amongst more experienced members, only too willing to make your first few visits much smoother.
The choir is headed by Jane Wright who has been teaching music for many years. Currently Head of Music at Samuel Ward Academy in Haverhill, Suffolk. Jane has been Musical Director of Haverhill & District Choral Society since the summer of 2002.
We aim to entertain with an average of 3 large performances per calendar year. Alongside are a number of social events; held both for our own entertainment and for the general public. As a member or relative of a member of the HCS you can also expect to be invited to a wide range of optional events. We are always looking for entertaining ways to raise funds for the Society and often hold Barn Dances or Coffee Mornings, even tabletop sales during the tea break at rehearsals.
